Teacher Survey

ADPS has collaborated with the Forum of Heads of Service in Scotland (ie
Heads of Support Services for Deaf Children) and the British Association
of Teachers of the Deaf (BATOD) to undertake a survey of specialist teachers
working with deaf children. Surprisingly, there has been a lack of accurate
information on the numbers of such teachers, the nature of their qualifications
and the specific demands made upon them. Such information is important in
relation to planning for adequate educational support for deaf pupils and
for the training and recruitment of specialist teachers.
The Teacher Survey was undertaken during 2003. Data has been inputted and first level analysis undertaken. Results will be posted on this site as available.
