What language or languages are used in the child's home? What language or languages are used by 'key adults' such as parents/carers, teachers of deaf children, nursery school/centre staff, deaf support staff, speech and language therapists or other professionals? How many of these use spoken English? How many use a spoken language other than English, such as Punjabi, Cantonese, Mandarin, Hindi? How many use British Sign Language (BSL)? How many use some form of signing along with English, such as Signed Supported English or Signed English? How many deaf children use Makaton? This information is presented in the Pre-School Language ADPS charts.
